Brad Shapiro had been a Arriflex SR owner since 1987, in the early 90's he began a partnership with Tom Greco. In order add the equipment needed for a truly first class package, they began to market Brad's original SR1 to other DP's and production companies. By 1997 both of these camera department veterans knew what was needed, a major upgrade to a modern camera. Arri engineering and a legendary reputation for rugged durability made the SR3 their choice. In 16mm nothing tops the Arri system for range of accessories and support.
Location Camera was founded in 1998 to provide the most complete 16/Super 16 Camera Package in the market. We have an ongoing mission, upgrade the equipment inventory to meet client needs and provide the finest, well maintained camera equipment.
High Definition Video Production has increasingly become the format of choice for many productions. Responding to client demand for this alternative to 16mm film production Location Camera added a Panasonic VariCam Package to their rental inventory in early 2005. In 2007 with the demand for HD gear increasing we sold our 16mm equipment to concentrate exclusively on HD video. In 2009 the company added the RED One Digital Cinema Camera to offer the most advanced high def video equipment to our clients. Our first-class inventory includes RED & Angeneiux lenses, RED, Panasonic and Sony monitors, RED, Arri, Element Technica and Microforce accessories, O' Connor and Sachtler tripods, extensive camera accessories, filters and more.
